Cypress Cove Nudist Resort sits on about 300 acres of Central Florida countryside in Kissimmee, a short drive from Orlando's theme parks. Operating since 1964, it is one of the best-known family nudist resorts in the United States. The grounds include a 50-acre lake, around 20 acres of recreation areas and 130 acres of protected wetlands, together with 84 villa hotel rooms and apartments, a campground and RV park, and a residential community of homeowners.
Cypress Cove is a traditional naturist resort: social, family-oriented and non-sexual. Its clientele is mainly couples and families. It welcomes members of the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) and other nudist organisations, as well as first-time visitors.
Who it suits
- Naturist couples and families who want a full-service resort with pools, dining and sports.
- First-time naturists, since the resort has a long track record of welcoming newcomers and offers first-time visitor information.
- Visitors to Orlando who want to combine theme parks with a few days of nude relaxation.
- Lifestyle couples who want a restful nude holiday and fully respect a family, non-sexual environment.
Single men are asked to qualify before visiting, so call ahead.
Facilities
The resort has two heated swimming pools, two hot tubs, a clubhouse, a game room, a gym, a massage service, a boutique and a salon. Dining includes a lakeside restaurant and bars, including a poolside bar and grill. Sports options are unusually broad: sand volleyball, six tennis courts, pickleball, shuffleboard and a nine-hole chip-and-putt golf course. The lake is used for paddling and relaxing, and the protected wetlands attract birds and wildlife.
Tips for a first visit
- Check the first-time visitor information on the resort's site before you arrive; it explains what to bring and how check-in works.
- Bring two towels, one to sit on and one for swimming, plus a cover-up for cooler evenings.
- Start with a day visit or a short stay if you are new to naturism; most first-timers relax within an hour.
- Join an organised activity, such as volleyball or a social event, to meet regulars.
Best time to go
October to April is the most pleasant time in Central Florida, with warm days and lower humidity. Winter is the resort's high season. Summer is hot and humid, with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November. Themed events and holiday weekends book up early.
Getting there
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is roughly 30 minutes away by road, and the resort is on Pleasant Hill Road in Kissimmee. Walt Disney World and other Orlando attractions are within a short drive. A car is essential.
Rules and etiquette
- Nudity is the norm in common areas when the weather allows; clothing is fine when it is cool or in certain indoor spaces, following resort rules.
- Always sit on a towel.
- No photography of other guests without their consent; follow resort camera rules.
- No sexual behaviour in public areas. This is a family resort, and inappropriate conduct leads to removal.
- Check membership discounts. The resort announced that its AANR coupons would no longer be accepted after 1 July 2026; check current offers for nudist-organisation members on the official site.
Safety
Florida's sun is intense year-round; use high-factor sunscreen, especially on skin that rarely sees the sun, and stay hydrated. Lakes and wetlands in Florida can be home to alligators, so follow the resort's guidance on where to swim and keep away from the water's edge in natural areas.
